The “seek” part of this site is all about trying new things or working through an adventure. Our newest adventure over the last few months has been a garden. We went to Home Depot, got all the wood, the bricks, the vegetable seedlings, the fruit plants, the newly sprouted citrus trees, and the herbs.
We loaded up my husband’s truck with local soil that has a reputation of being great for gardens and back home we went! It was quite the afternoon but after doing the calculations, preparing the space, and another truck bed of soil, our garden was built!
We had a rough start because, naturally, we had a few days near 100 degrees so some of the plants didn’t make it.
But we managed to bring some back and.. they thrived!
As we go into our windy season – wind gusts can reach 75 mph – and winter season, we are now having to accept that it’s time to learn how to switch seasons for this quaint little garden of ours. Here’s to being able to sustain it! Any tips are appreciated!
